English as a Second Language for The Hartford

Customized for Japanese employees of The Hartford in Japan, the third year of this program focused on improved verbal and written communication in the workplace. With beginner, intermediate and advanced students, Rassias immersions are developed with specific student needs in mind. By conducting the program on-site in Japan, total costs are reduced, while still creating a total language immersion for students.

German in Kossen, Austria

Set in a wonderful Austrian village, 1.5 hours from Munich and 45 minutes from Salzburg, you will plunge into an intensive Rassias Immersion in a total German language setting from the moment you arrive in Kossen. Our daily schedule follows the normal Rassias pattern of Master Classes and Drills for much of the day, interspersed with excursions to use our German skills at local German speaking restaurants and shops. While the focus is on developing German language skills, we will incorporate local culture at every opportunity. Dinners most evenings in local restaurants.

Classes are small and grouped by ability.

Twice-daily Master Classes are highly structured sessions that introduce new vocabulary, grammar, idioms and language structure in small groups. Drill sessions for five hours daily reinforce learning from Master Classes and have students learn-by-speaking. You will speak Spanish between 60-90 times each hour-even if you are a complete beginner!

Whether your desire to improve Italian is for business, academics or pleasure, our Rassias Italian Immersion in Boston will advance your ability to speak and understand. Rassias Portuguese in Boston

September 10-16 2005 (Saturday to Friday) Portuguese

Join Master Teacher Uju Anya for an intensive week in beginning and intermediate Portuguese. We focus on verbal and aural ability so that you gain fast working command of social interactions, and an ability to communicate in the present, past and future tenses. Classes are small and grouped by ability. In this fast-paced Portuguese immersion, you will be challenged every hour.

Master Classes will introduce new vocabulary, idioms, grammar and language structure. Drill reinforce learning and have you speaking 60-90 times each hour. In our daily tutoring and diagnostics, you will master problem areas in pronunciation and grammatical structures, and reinforce your new language skills. Optional dinners at Portuguese speaking restaurants and cultural evenings complete the immersion.

A five-day Rassias immersion program for high-school students at all levels of French and Spanish. This program will run from 9 am to 4 pm daily, with Master classes and drill sessions in the morning, lunch in the target language both on campus and at area restaurants, and group projects in the afternoon.

Language on Demand in Alexandria, Virginia (Metro to DC)

June 13-19, 2005 (seven day immersion) Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese

A seven-day immersion in Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic on the campus of Episcopal High School in Alexandria. Suitable for beginning students in Arabic and beginner or intermediate Spanish and Portuguese, these immersions will be ten hours daily. Highlights of each day begin with Rassias Master Classes, followed by three rapid-paced drill sessions, lunch in the language, another Master Class, drill sessions and individual tutoring. The day ends with cultural activity and homework.

Ideal for students and adults, we weave academic Rassias Master Classes into a fabric of drama, interviews, cultural activity and drill sessions that will have you using the language hundreds of times a day-with instant correction and new teaching to reinforce learning. Each day begins with Rassias Master Classes, followed by three rapid-paced drill sessions, lunch in the language, another Master Class, drill sessions and individual tutoring. The day ends with cultural activity and homework!
